Ulu Watu

A few days ago we visited the beautiful temple of Ulu Watu, on the southwest corner of the island.  It a beautiful temple perched on a cliff with amazing views of the ocean.  The most entertaining aspect were the monkeys who seemed to rule this roost.  We were warned to keep anything we wanted close to us, and to remove any jewelry, sunglasses, etc.  These warnings heeded true as we watch a monkey literally pull a flip flop of a girl's foot while she stood there freaking out.  The dad traded the monkey with bananas for the flip flop, but then he went at her a second time!  Some would jump on ladies back and start picking at their hair the way they pick bugs and such off of each other.  The baby monkeys were adorable as they rode around hanging onto their mama's tummys.  They seem a communal and cuddly bunch, always lounging around on each other and cuddling up tight.  I could have watched their antics for hours!!
